Our Vision
A diversified fleet.
A reimagined harbour.
Kilkeel has been a working fishing port for generations. Our vision is to safeguard that heritage by broadening what the harbour can do — diversifying the fleet beyond traditional whitefish and pelagic trawling, and developing the harbour itself into a modern, multi-purpose port that supports fishing, aquaculture, offshore energy, and marine tourism side by side.
01 · Fleet
Diversifying the fleet
Supporting investment in smaller inshore vessels, shellfish boats, and crews that service the offshore renewables sector — so Kilkeel's working waterfront isn't dependent on any single catch, quota, or market.
02 · Harbour
Diverse harbour usage
Creating space for fishing, aquaculture, offshore energy servicing, marine tourism, and small-craft mooring — so the harbour serves many users and stays active year-round.
Together these two strands — a more diverse fleet and a more capable harbour — make Kilkeel resilient against changing quotas, energy transitions, and the realities of a modern maritime economy.
